Medical College for Women and Hospital

Medical College for Women and Hospital is one of the premier institutions for the study of MBBS in Bangladesh, exclusively for women. The college is a reputed and prestigious institution for the study of medicine in Bangladesh and has been a major attraction for a large number of female students to pursue career in medical field, both local and international. Institutions, especially made for women, has been in fashion for quite a long time, all over the world. In Asian countries, too, there are many such institutions. The primary aim is to provide a secure environment, and a liberal outlook, in order to create a safe space for learning and training. The Medical College for Women and Hospital, has been built on the same principle, in 1992, to provide a safe and comfortable environment for female students to study a prestigious course comfortably. 

The degree awarded by Medical College for Women and Hospital is approved and recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) and is enlisted with WDOMS (World Directory of Medical Schools). The college has also been recognized by Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council and the Medical Board of California. This provides the opportunity for the students to work and pursue this noble profession, anywhere in the world. The college fee is affordable for both local and foreign students.

Courses/Faculties

•     Faculty of General Medicine (MBBS)

The college has 20 departments and more than 100 highly qualified, experienced and reputed faculties. The education imparted by the faculties involves a lot of practical knowledge, an excellent training program, in order to allow the students to excel in their practice. 
A 500 bedded hospital is affiliated with the college, and both the hospital and the college is under the governance of a non-political and non-profitable organization - “The Medical & Health Welfare Trust”, where the students are required to practice in order to gain practical knowledge and experience.

Accommodation

The college provides safe and comfortable accommodation for all local and international students. The rooms are shared by two students only. The hostel rooms are fully furnished with a central cooling and heating system. The hostel is equipped with laundry services and a hygienic and sanitized mess, with provisions for Indian food as well.

Student Life

The college has a very lively environment, and the campus is fully secured in order to provide the adequate safety for the female students. The college also organizes various cultural events, sports activities, and other extra-curricular activities for the students to keep them physically and mentally fit. The students have access to library catering both their academic as well as other needs, so that the students can read books, other than their course material. The college is very lively, when it comes to the festivals. The local festivals are celebrated with absolute zeal. The Indian festivals are also celebrated, since there is a large number of students from India, so that they don’t feel like missing out on festivals and keep them culturally connected to their roots.
